Bhanga Nek Lodge -

Long been considered as one of South Africa's natural and cultural wonders, Kosi Bay in northern Kwa Zulu Natal offers one of Africa's most spectacular estuarine systems. Four interconnected lakes, separated from the undeveloped pristine beaches by a spit of land, flow into the Indian Ocean. Fringed on the west by forested dunes, secluded beaches and dramatic coral reefs, Bhanga Nek is destined to become a tourism destination of the highest repute. The development of the area is fundamental to the success of the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park and the newly appointed governmental authority is focusing on this area as one of its priority nodes.
The construction of the major road linking Maputo in the north with Durban in the south will dramatically change the isolation of the area by increasing regional tourist flows and increasing access to source markets. This road lays the basis for the incorporation of Kosi Bay and Bhanga Nek into the tourism economy of the eastern seaboard. The Bhanga Nek site consists of 2.3 hectares of unspoilt coastal forest with direct access to the sandy Kosi beach on the east of the Kosi Lake system directly to the west of the allocated site. The site is earmarked for an exclusive luxury 30 bed beach lodge. |
