Trout Fishing

Verlorenkloof has 6km of river frontage on the Upper Crocodile. This stretch of the Upper Crocodile with its riffles, rapids and deeper pools is more than enough to challenge those with a passion for stalking Wild Rainbows. Offering the best river fishing for wild trout in Mpumalanga, Verlorenkloof can comfortably accommodate 15 to 20 fishermen along 10 beats at any one time. Testifying to the high quality of river fishing available at Verlorenkloof is the fact that the property was chosen as the setting for the 2001 Kwena Basin Fly-fishing challenge. In addition to river fishing, Verlorenkloof offers still water fishing in dams and weirs fed by cold water of exceptional quality from perennial streams rising in wetlands above the kloofs.

Fly fishing is managed via professionally established guidelines as are appropriate for a well run facility of this nature. Barbless flies are the order of the day and the property has its own hatchery comprised of four 1600m2 dams with a holding capacity for 10 000 fingerlings each.
